Creating a culture of philanthropy starts with current students

Abstract

In an effort to nurture future fundraising success, higher education institutions are refocusing their advancement efforts on educating current students about the importance and impact of philanthropy. Creating a culture of philanthropy starts with financial resources, campus collaborations and engaging current students. Student philanthropy engagement can lead to stronger alumni affinity and increased financial support. This paper explores the development and implementation of student philanthropy programming, utilising the case study of Indiana University Northwest, a non-residential urban campus located in the Midwest.
