Kadın İstihdamı ve Kişi Başına GSYH’nin Gelir Eşitsizliği Üzerindeki Etkisi: Avrupa Birliği Üye Ülkeleri ve Türkiye'de Panel Moderatör Etki Analizi

Abstract

Yoksulluğun azaltılması ekonomik büyüme, sosyal uyum ve toplum sağlığı açısından önemli bir konudur. Bu bağlamda kadın istihdamının GINI katsayısı üzerindeki etkisi oldukça önemlidir. Bu çalışmada kadın istihdamının ve Kişi Başı Gayri Safi Yurt İçi Hasıla’nın GINI katsayısı üzerindeki etkisi panel moderatör etki modeli yardımıyla incelenmiştir. Analiz 2006-2020 yılları arasında 19 AB üyesi ülke ile Türkiye’ye odaklanmaktadır. Sonuçlar, kadınların işgücüne katılımının önemli bir düzeyde olmasının GINI katsayısında bir azalma ile ilişkili olduğunu ve bunun da gelir eşitliğinde bir iyileşmeye işaret ettiğini göstermektedir. Kişi başına daha yüksek bir GSYH değeri de GINI katsayısında bir azalma ile ilişkilidir. Diğer şartlar sabit iken düşük gelirli panel ülkelerinde kadınların işgücüne katılımındaki %1'’ik bir artış GINI katsayısında %1,6’lık bir azalışa neden olurken, yüksek gelirli panel ülkelerinde ise %1’lik bir artış %3,3’lük bir azalışa neden olmaktadır. Diğer şartlar sabit iken düşük gelirli panel ülkelerinde kişi başı GSYH’deki %1’lik bir artış GINI katsayısında %0,6’lık bir azalışa neden olurken, yüksek gelirli panel ülkelerinde ise %1’lik bir artış %1,3’lük bir azalışa neden olmaktadır.
