Abstract

İnovasyon kavramının kökeni çok eski yıllara dayanmasına ve birçok iktisatçı tarafından çalışma konusu edilmesine rağmen son 50 yıl içerisinde önemi gittikçe artan konulardan birisi olmuştur. Öneminin artmasının temel sebebi ise küreselleşme ile beraber ülkelerin dünya ekonomisini çıkarlarına yarayacak şekilde yönetebilmek istemesidir. Bu açıdan inovasyon, ekonomik hayatta kalma ve sürdürülebilir rekabet için stratejik bir gerekliliktir. Ülkeler mal ve hizmet üretilmesi ve bunun uluslararası pazarda satılması sonucunda kar elde etmekte ve piyasaya hâkim olabilmektedirler. Ülkeler bilgi üretimi ile, teknolojide yenilikler sağlayarak, uluslararası piyasada satabilecekleri mal ve hizmet üretme çabası içerisine girmektedirler. Bundan dolayı birçok ülke dünya ekonomisinde var olabilmek ve bu pazarda hakimiyet sağlayabilmek ve de gelir artışı sağlayabilmek amacıyla inovasyona yönelmektedirler. Ülkelerin ekonomik büyümelerini sağlamalarında ve istihdam artışı gerçekleştirmelerinde inovasyon oldukça önemli bir yer almaktadır. Diğer yandan kalkınmada da itici güç olarak kabul edilen inovasyon küresel sorunların ele alınmasında da önemini ortaya koymaktadır. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı inovasyon kavramın, önemini, amacını ve inovasyon çeşitlerini incelemek ve inovasyonun istihdama etkilerini ortaya koymaktır.
