Ekonomik Büyüme ve İşsizlik Arasındaki İlişki: Türkiyede Ekonometrik Bir Analiz

Abstract

Türkiye ekonomisinde yıllar içerisinde büyüme istatistikleri artmasına rağmen işsizlik oranları tartışma konusu olmuştur. Genel kabul görülen teoride; Bir ülkenin ekonomisinin büyüme oranı arttığında, istihdam artarak, işsizlik oranını azalır beklentisi, özellikle Türkiye’de son yıllardaki elde edilen yüksek ekonomik büyüme oranlarına rağmen bu performansın aynı ölçüde işsizlik oranlarına yansımaması tartışmalara yol açmaktadır. Yeni bir boyut kazanan tartışmada, ekonomik büyüme ve işsizlik oranları arasındaki ilişkiyi açığa çıkartmak son derece önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada; Türkiye’deki ekonomik büyüme oranı ve işsizlik verileri alınarak ekonometrik yöntemler ile aralarındaki bağ araştırılmıştır, Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu (TÜİK) ve Dünya Bankası verileri kullanılarak 1960-1979, 1980 – 1999, 2000-2016 yılları olmak üzere üç dönem olarak incelenmiştir. Önce değişkenler arasında birim kök testi yapılmış, aralarındaki nedensellik ilişkisi için Granger testi uygulanmış ve Korelasyon testi ile çalışma sonuçlandırılmıştır. Türkiye özelinde, üretime dayalı, istihdam sağlayan, yüksek katma değerli ürün odaklı ve dışa bağımlılığı azaltacak ihracat politikasıyla bir ekonomik büyüme modeli oluşturulması sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
