Hedef Maliyetlemenin Küçük ve Orta Büyüklükteki İşletmelere Uygulanabilirliği: İstanbul İkitelli Organize Sanayi Bölgesinde Yapılan Bir Araştırma

Abstract

Hedef maliyetleme tekniği 1990’lı yılların ortalarında literatürümüze girmesine karşın üzerinde yoğun tartışılan konulardan biri olmuştur. Fakat bu tartışmalar genel olarak kavramsal ve teorik düzeyde gerçekleşmiş ve yapılan araştırmalar büyük sanayi kuruluşlarını kapsamıştır. Rekabet ve teknolojik gelişmeler sadece büyük firmaları etkilememekte, istihdam ve ekonominin temel taşlarından biri olan Küçük ve Orta Büyüklükteki İşletmeleri de (KOBİ) etkilemektedir. Bu bakımdan KOBİ’lerin rekabet ortamında varlıklarını sürdürebilmeleri için, hedef maliyetleme gibi stratejik maliyet yönetimlerini uygulamaları gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, KOBİ’ler arasında hedef maliyetleme tekniğinin uygulanabilirliği ile hedef maliyeti uygulayan KOBİ’ler ile uygulamayan KOBİ’ler arasındaki temel farkları ortaya koyarak hedef maliyetleme tekniğinin KOBİ’lere uygulanabilirliğini araştırmaktır. Çalışmamızda, İstanbul İkitelli Organize Sanayi Bölgesi’nde imalat alanında faaliyet gösteren KOBİ’ler araştırma kapsamına alınmıştır. Sonuç olarak, KOBİ’lerin hedef maliyetleme tekniğini yeterince bilmemelerine karşın, hedef maliyetlemenin bazı ilkelerinin bütün KOBİ’ler tarafından uygulandığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu bakımdan, KOBİ yönetici ve çalışanların muhasebe ve maliyet bilgi düzeylerinin arttırılması ile birlikte hedef maliyetleme tekniği KOBİ’ler arasında hızla yayılacaktır.
