Osmanlı Devleti'nde Siyasi Ritüeller

Abstract

Sözlük anlamıyla ritüel, geleneksel tören anlamına gelmektedir. Ritüeller; geçmiş, şimdiki ve gelecek zamanı birbirine bağlamaktadır. Bireyi toplumsallaştırıp, dayanışma duygusunu arttırarak toplumda birlik ve beraberlik duygularının kuşaktan kuşağa aktarılmasını sağlamaktadır. Siyasi ritüeller ise harekete geçirdikleri semboller aracığıyla kişilere ortak kod ve anlamlar kazandıran ritüellerdir. Siyasi ritüeller, siyasi semboller ile zihinsel kurgular yaratarak ve insanları yeniden organize ederek semboller aracılığıyla yol haritaları sağlama işlevi görmektedir. Osmanlı Devleti, ritüeller açısından oldukça zengin bir devlettir. Osmanlı Devleti’nde padişahların tahta çıkışı, yabancı elçilerin padişah huzuruna çıkması, padişahların ölümleri, padişahların seferlere gidişi, padişahların kılıç kuşanmaları gibi eylemler çeşitli ritüeller vasıtasıyla anılmıştır. Ritüeller; semboller, gösteriler, protokol kuralları vb. unsurlara göre tasarlanmış iktidarın sahnelendiği yerler olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Osmanlı Devleti’nde önemli bir yeri olan Kılıç Kuşanma, Cülus ve Biat törenlerinden, Elçi Kabulünden, Cuma Selamlığından ve Surre alaylarından bahsedilecektir.
