Nominal Negatif Faiz Oranı Politikasının Ekonomik Büyüme Üzerindeki Etkileri: İlk Kanıtlar (2000q1-2016q4)

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, nominal negatif faiz oranlarının para politikası aracı olarak kullanıldığı ECB üyesi ülkeler ile Danimarka, İsveç, İsviçre ve Japonya’da, nominal negatif politika faiz oranlarının ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkileri 2000Q1-2016Q4 dönemine ait çeyreklik verilerle ve yatay kesit bağımlılığını dikkate alan ikinci nesil panel veri analizi metodolojisiyle ampirik olarak incelenmektedir. Bu yönüyle çalışmada, nominal negatif faiz oranı politikasının uygulayıcı ülkelerin ekonomik büyüme performansları üzerinde beklenilen toparlayıcı etkileri yaratıp yaratmadığının ekonometrik olarak değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Çalışma sonucunda, nominal negatif faiz oranı politikasının uygulayıcısı olan ilgili ülkelerde para piyasası nominal politika faiz oranlarının negatife dönüştürüldüğü 2012Q3-2016Q4 döneminde ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkilerinin pozitif yönlü ve istatistiki açıdan anlamlı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlar, ECB üyesi ülkeler ile Danimarka, İsveç, İsviçre ve Japonya Merkez Bankaları tarafından 2008 küresel ekonomik kriziyle birlikte daralan ekonomilerinin yeninden canlandırılabilmesi için en yeni para politikası aracı olarak kullanılan nominal negatif faiz oranı politikasının, teorik düzlemde beklenilen sonuçları ortaya çıkarmada sıra dışı da olsa görece etkili bir para politikası seti olduğunu düşündürmektedir.
