Desigualdade de Proficiência no Ensino Fundamental Público Brasileiro: Uma Análise de Decomposição

Abstract

Este artigo analisa quais variáveis estão mais associadas à desigualdade de desempenho escolar entre alunos da 4a série do ensino fundamental da rede pública de São Paulo. Foi realizada uma decomposição estática do índice Theil-L. Os resultados indicam que características de background sócio-econômico dos alunos (especialmente reprovação, se o aluno faz lição de casa, participação no programa Bolsa Família e número de pessoas na casa) são as mais relacionadas com a desigualdade de notas, correspondendo a 25% da desigualdade total. As variáveis de insumos escolares apresentaram menor influência se olhadas individualmente. Entretanto, em conjunto contribuem com cerca de 14% da desigualdade.
