Abstract

The paper presents both the theoretical approaches concerning direct implementation of knowledge management consisting in standards and frameworks, developed by specific standardization organisms and experienced agents in the field and theoretical models concerning the understanding the concept of knowledge management, listed from the appearance of this approach until nowadays, with the goal of highlighting the importance of the domain. The field of knowledge management (KM) is thus highly appreciated in research and practice but also relatively diffused into models and approaches, but the bound between the two theoretical approaches is very powerful, in a sense that the standards are based on the theoretical models concerning the understanding of the concept.
