Biochemical Markers of Bone Turnover as Predictors of Bone Mineral Density Response to Denosumab

Abstract

In osteoporosis, there is an increase in reabsorption and a decrease in bone formation. This bone turnover could be measured through bone turnover markers (BTM) in order to predict the response in bone mineral density. In this trial, we describe BTM after initiation of Denosumab (DMAB) treatment and its relationship with subsequent long-term responses of BMD (Bone Mineral Density).
