Effectiveness of Visual Scanning Training at Reducing Left Neglect: A Systematic Review

Abstract

One of the most common cognitive issues associated with a cerebrovascular accident (CVA) is an attention deficit known as hemispatial neglect. Once neglect has been diagnosed, therapists have a number of different interventions from which to choose. One of the earliest interventions still in use today is visual scanning training (VST). The purpose of this systematic review was to evaluate the effectiveness of VST at reducing the effects of left neglect caused by a right-sided CVA.
