Gianotti-Crosti Syndrome Revealing Hepatitis B in a Male Adult: A Case Report

Abstract

Gianotti-Crosti syndrome is an idiopathic eruption mainly affecting children, rarely in adult. It is also considered to be a nonspecific cutaneous reaction to a viral infection that may occurs in patient with hepatitis B or EBV infection. Herein, we present the case of a 28-year-old Moroccan man who had monomorphic pale, pink-to-flesh - colored papules localized symmetrically over the extremities, neck, forearms and knees. A biopsy was performed and the anatomopathological aspect showed spongiosis with perivascular inflammation in reticular dermis. Serology tests demonstrated antibodies against Hepatitis B without any systemic symptoms. Because of the good improvement of this disease, we opted for therapeutic abstention.
