Abstract

Among the autoimmune disorders, psoriasis and GBS (Guillain-Barré syndrome) are conceptual-ly distant. Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune disease of the skin, whereas GBS is an acute au-toimmune demyelinating polyneuropathy which usually occurs after a bacterial or viral infection. Currently, it is unknown whether psoriasis increases the risk of developing GBS or if GBS pa-tients have an increased tendency of developing psoriasis later in life. The purpose of our re-search is to find a correlation between the two diseases to build on the wealth of knowledge of psoriasis and GBS and to stimulate more research around the pathogenic mechanisms of this as-sociation.
