Fight for Regulation and its Enforcement on Stem Cell Therapy in China

Abstract

The article begins with Chinese attention to the fight for regulation on stem cell therapy in USA. The main body of this article is a try to provide an overview on the unruly situation of stem cell therapy in which is a fight between humanist culture of medical tradition and capitalist culture of the market manifested. Then the article discusses clinico-ethical and research ethical issues as well as regulatory issues in clinical research and translations of stem cell therapy. Finally, this article concludes that the fight between humanist culture of medical tradition and capitalist culture of the market will be still going on not only in the field of stem cell therapy but also in the fields of gene editing and somatic cell therapy.
