Abstract

Wastewater treatment (WWT) system in textile industry is used to treat the effluent discharged from sizing and different wet processing of textiles in Ethiopia. Textile industry uses a large quantity of chemicals and huge amount of water for sizing of warp yarn, pretreatment of textiles and coloration processes. Wastewater Treatment Plant is important because it reduces the adverse environmental impact of the effluent discharged to the surrounding. In this study, an attempt has made to design an efficient and cost-effective Wastewater Treatment Plant based on the identified effluent characteristics from three different textile industries.
