Sustainable Development of Territories and Ensuring Quality of Life on the Basis of Economics of Quality

Abstract

The article deals with the use of the economics of quality tools - standardization, metrology, quality management - for increase of development stability of the territories. The activity of the International Technical committee ISO/TC 268 and national Technical committee 115 is considered. The draft of the international ISO 37101 standard is considered as an example. Distribution of quality management methods in the world, in our country and their application for increase of development stability of territories is considered as well. The purposes and tasks of the UNESCO new chair “Sustainable development of territories and ensuring the quality of people’s life†being established at the Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University are briefly revealed.
