Abstract

Bradyarrhythmias, characterized by abnormally slow heart rates, involve complex dysfunction of the cardiac pacing and conduction system. The cardiac ganglion plexus, a key hub of cardiac autonomic regulation, is increasingly recognized for its crucial role in maintaining normal rhythm through its structural and functional integrity. Concurrently, the roles of oxidative stress and ferroptosis, a novel form of regulated cell death, in cardiovascular diseases are being elucidated. Peroxiredoxin 3 (PRDX3), a key mitochondrial antioxidant enzyme, plays a vital role in regulating cellular redox balance and inhibiting ferroptosis.
