Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 highlighted major challenges related to sample storage and transportation, which contributed to high rates of false-negative diagnostic results. Toward the later stages of the pandemic, lysis buffers were introduced to reduce these false negatives; however, their use compromised host cell integrity, potentially affecting viral analysis when viral loads are low. These limitations raised concerns regarding both host cell viability and viral stability during sample transport.
