Aplastic Anemia and Antithyroid Toxicity- Case Report

Abstract

Anti-thyroid medications have been shown to be effective for treatment of hyperthyroidism, however, rare and infrequent potentially fatal adverse events such as agranulocytosis or aplastic anemia (AA) have been reported. We report the case of a 20-year-old male patient who presented AA while on anti-thyroid drug treatment. Our patient joins the few cases reported in world literature.
