Abstract

Sambucus ebulus, or European elderberry, has been under the limelight due to its potential therapeutic applications in traditional medicine. Recent studies have isolated a series of bioactive compounds in the plant, including flavonoids, phenolic acids, and glycosides, which are accountable for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anticancer effects.
