Association between Type II Diabetes Mellitus and PreDM with the Triglyceride-to-HDL-Cholesterol Ratios in Korean Older Adults- KNHANES VIII-1

Abstract

The prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has increased over the past 50 years, along with the aging of the population. The occurrence and development of pre-DM and T2DM are all closely related to non-traditional lipid parameters like the THR (triglycerides to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio), in addition to traditional lipid parameters like TG, TC, HDL-C, and LDL-C. In older Korean individuals, the precise association between THR and pre DM, and T2DM has not yet been firmly established.
