Abstract

Surface water is any source of water above the surface of the earth, surface water sources are lakes, rivers, streams, and even oceans. This surface water is the major source of water for drinking, agricultural and domestic use in the rural communities in Nigeria. The aim of this study was to determine the bacteriological and physicochemical parameters of the selected surface water in Ifaki Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. To achieve this aim, water samples were taken from Omi-Oniyo and Omi-Igbo streams in Ifaki-Ekiti and examined using microbial culture and physicochemical analysis method.
