Abstract

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious viral zoonotic disease that emerged in late 2019 with the index case reported in Wuhan, China. The etiology of this disease is the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Since 2019, it has spread rapidly worldwide and was declared a pandemic in March 2020 by the World Health Organization.
