Abstract

Case-control study, including patients with severe PE hospitalized at the San Vicente Fundación University Hospital in Medellín (Colombia), between January 2014 and December 2019. Patients with severe PE complicated by acute kidney injury, cardiomyopathy, edema, pulmonary, eclampsia, cerebrovascular accident, hepatic subcapsular hematoma, abruptio placentae, intensive care unit admission for preeclampsia-related complications, or death, versus patients with severe PE who did not develop complications. A logistic regression was performed taking into account the clinical history of risk, the quality of care provided, the presence of Help syndrome, variables considered a priori as potentially confusing.
