Abstract

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an acute respiratory infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. Symptoms usually appear mildly and gradually, and many patients can recover without the need for special treatment. However, some people may experience a worsening of the disease, developing breathing difficulties that can progress and lead to complications.
