Abstract

The presence of circulating tumor cells (CTC) in patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) has potential diagnostic and prognostic significance. We previously applied the CellSearch system (CSS) and the isolation by size of epithelial tumor cells (ISET) method to detect CTCs in RCC patients, and analysis of the 3-year follow-up data indicated that CTC detection correlated significantly with the clinical stage of RCC.
