Die Gerechtigkeitsdebatte in Deutschland: Diskursversagen beim Mindestlohn

Abstract

In Deutschland wurde die öffentliche Diskussion um die Einführung eines flächendeckenden gesetzlichen Mindestlohns vor allem normativ geführt: als Gerechtigkeitsdebatte. Dabei gerieten wichtige Aspekte aus dem Blick. So kam es zu einem gravierenden Diskursversagen: Trotz sachverständiger Warnungen erwartet die Mehrheit der Bevölkerung keine negativen Auswirkungen auf die Beschäftigung. Zudem wurde übersehen, dass Lohnsubventionen dem Instrument eines Mindestlohns in mehrerlei Hinsicht überlegen sind.
