Abstract

Die Ereignisse des Jahres 1998 markieren für die Volkswirtschaft der Russischen Föderation einen herben Rückschlag. Es kam nicht nur zu einem dramatischen Einbruch der wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung, auch die Strategie der marktwirtschaftlichen Umgestaltung steht in Frage. Dabei war erst im Jahr 1997 der wirtschaftliche Niedergang endlich zum Stillstand gekommen, es gab sogar erste Anzeichen für eine einsetzende Erholung. Der Vertrauensverlust der Wirtschaftspolitik sowohl im eigenen Lande als auch auf den internationalen Märkten hat jetzt verheerende Ausmaße angenommen. Angesichts der Entwicklungen ist die Frage nach den Ursachen für die Wende zum Negativen und nach den Perspektiven der jetzt eingeschlagenen Wirtschaftspolitik zu stellen. Um zum Erfolg zu kommen, sind nun stärkere Anstrengungen geboten als bei früheren Stabilisierungsversuchen erforderlich gewesen wären. --
