[Political economy and the transition to "Green" economy]

Abstract

The publication analyzes part of the current challenges standing before the political economy as a science. As one the key challenges has been identified the potential of political economy to serve as theoretical basis of the transition to the so-called "green" economy. And whether that would be an opportunity for its modern "revival." A critical review of various theoretical statements has been prepared and a ratio between the intensity of the procyclical regulations directed to post-recessionary recovery and regulations related to neutralization of the market failures with negative impact on the external environment is considered. The different orientation of the two policies forms one interim field which needs to be analyzed in order to multiply the complex effects in both directions.
