Exportpotentiale zwischen Österreich und den benachbarten MOEL. Simulationsergebnisse aus einem panelökonometrischen Gravitationsmodell

Abstract

Österreichs Exporte in einige MOEL wuchsen in den letzten Jahren zum Teil mit zweistelligen Raten. Der Bedeutungsgewinn der MOEL für Österreichs Außenwirtschaft hängt unmittelbar mit der institutionellen, politischen und ökonomischen Transformation in diesen Ländern zusammen. Wird dieser Prozeß im Rahmen der europäischen Integration in geeigneter Weise unterstützt, so kann sich die durchschnittliche Außenwirtschaftsverflechtung der MOEL jener der heutigen EU-Länder angleichen. Dies wäre mit einer mittelfristigen Fortsetzung des derzeitigen Wachstums der österreichischen Exporte verbunden. Die ökonomische Bedeutung der EU-Orientierung dieser Länder wird im vorliegenden Beitrag mit einem Gravitationsmodell geschätzt.
