Abstract

La problematica del transporte urbano en la ciudad de La Paz, Bolivia, que incluye la complejidad de su topografia, el crecimiento del parque automotor y la desmesurada congestion vehicular que se presenta en las diferentes horas del dia, da lugar a la creacion de la empresa estatal “Mi Teleferico”, la cual se constituye en la primera empresa de transporte masivo por cable en la ciudad, conectando los diferentes vecindarios de la urbe y enlazando las ciudades de La Paz y El Alto. Este servicio de transporte se caracteriza por contar con una capacidad instalada que le permite cubrir las diferentes demandas que se presentan en una jornada, otorgando una solucion tecnologica compatible con las caracteristicas de la ciudad y los requerimientos de los consumidores.
