Abstract

[eng] Friedrich Hayek's evolutionism : a double controversy revealing a double illusion. . For more than one decade, Hayek's theory of cultural evolution has been the object of a double controversy, with scientific and philosophical aspects. What is in discussion is nothing less than the existence of inner contradictions in the work of the Austrian Nobel prize winner. Apparently sterile and of mediocre quality, this double debate actually reveals a double illusion : the belief that the hayekian construction is of scientific or philosophical nature. Does it mean that Hayek's thought belongs to a third category : the ideological thought ? [fre] L'évolutionnisme de Friedrich Hayek. Une double controverse révélatrice d'une double illusion. . Depuis plus d'une décennie, la théorie de l'évolution culturelle proposée par Hayek est l'objet d'une double controverse, scientifique et philosophique, dont l'enjeu est d'établir (ou de réfuter) l'existence de contradictions dans la pensée du prix Nobel autrichien. Apparemment stérile et de qualité plutôt médiocre, ce débat est en fait révélateur d'une double illusion : la croyance selon laquelle la pensée hayekienne se déploie sur le terrain de la science ou de la philosophie. Est-ce à dire qu'elle relève d'un troisième genre : celui de la pensée idéologique ?
