Kollektive Lohnverhandlungen und Auslandsdirektinvestitionen: eine empirische Studie mit Firmendaten

Abstract

Diese Studie untersucht den Einfluss des Tarifvertragssystems auf die Entscheidung von Unternehmen, im Ausland zu investieren. Ein Lohnverhandlungsmodell zeigt, dass produktive Unternehmen durch Flächentarifverträge im Heimatland begünstigt werden und seltener im Ausland investieren als bei dezentralen Verhandlungen. Im empirischen Teil werden Daten des `Hannoveraner Firmenpanels´ für die Jahre 1995 und 1997 verwendet. Firmen die einen Haustarifvertrag haben, sind mit größerer Wahrscheinlichkeit Auslandsdirektinvestoren als Firmen mit einem Verbandstarifvertrag. Das Ergebnis bestätigt nicht die These, dass Flächentarifvertäge zu inflexibel sind, um betrieblichen Erfordernissen Rechnung zu tragen und so die Unternehmen zu 'Produktionsverlagerungen zwingen.
