Abstract

Das Innovationsgeschehen in Deutschland konzentriert sich zunehmend auf die Kfz-Industrie. Sie ist eindeutig der wichtigste Akteur bei Forschung und Entwicklung. Gemessen in Patentanmeldungen in Deutschland hat diese Branche ihren Forschungs-Output zwischen 2005 und 2016 um über 70 Prozent gesteigert. Im Aggregat der anderen Branchen ist die Patentaktivität hingegen spürbar gesunken. In der Folge ist der Anteil der Kfz-Industrie an der gesamten Patentaktivität der Wirtschaft in Deutschland von 30 auf 47 Prozent gestiegen. Diese Zahlen dokumentieren einen tiefgreifenden Wandel im inländischen Innovationsgeschehen.
