Indexmieten bleiben die Ausnahme: Reform trifft vor allem den Neubau

Abstract

Mit dem Anstieg der Inflation und der geplanten Mietrechtsreform sind Indexmieten erneut in den Fokus der wohnungspolitischen Debatte gerückt. Neue Daten des Ariadne Wärme- und Wohnen-Panels zeigen jedoch, dass Indexmietverträge trotz steigender Verbreitung weiterhin eine Minderheit aller Mietverhältnisse darstellen. Gleichzeitig werden sie im Neubau und in den großen Metropolen deutlich häufiger genutzt. Die geplante Kappung der Indexmiete auf 3 % könnte die Attraktivität dieser Vertragsform künftig spürbar reduzieren.
