Der neue britische Zolltarif

Abstract

Die britische Regierung hat im Mai 2020 den neuen Zolltarif (UK Global Tariff) des Vereinigten Königreichs (VK) veröffentlicht, der am 1. Januar 2021, nach dem Ende der Übergangsperiode mit der Europäischen Union (EU), den Gemeinsamen Zolltarif der EU ersetzen wird. Der neue britische Zolltarif wird auf Importe aus Drittstaaten in das VK angewendet werden und, falls kein Freihandelsabkommen mit der EU zustande kommt, auch auf Warenlieferungen aus der EU-27 nach Britannien. Ausnahmen gelten für Länder, mit denen das VK ein Handelsabkommen abgeschlossen hat - wie aktuell mit Japan -, und für Entwicklungsländer, die am allgemeinen Präferenzsystem teilnehmen.
