Sounddesign, Musik und Audioästhetik in digitalen Spielen: Wie auditive Elemente die Darstellungsästhetik digitaler Spiele prägen

Abstract

Der Beitrag analysiert die Bedeutung von Sounddesign und Musik in digitalen Spielen und zeigt, dass Audio weit über eine rein atmosphärische Funktion hinausgeht. Es dient als Orientierungssystem, emotionales Gestaltungsmittel und interaktives Feedback zugleich. Aufgrund der schnellen Verarbeitung auditiver Reize beeinflusst Klang die Wahrnehmung und Reaktion der Spieler:innen unmittelbar. Musik und Soundeffekte modulieren gezielt die emotionale Dramaturgie des Spiels, während AudioFeedback Handlungen bestätigt und das sogenannte "Game Feel" unterstützt. Anhand von Immersionskonzepten wird deutlich, dass Audio alle Ebenen des Spielerlebens - räumlich, narrativ, ludisch und sozial - gleichzeitig anspricht und miteinander verbindet. Darüber hinaus beleuchtet der Beitrag die Rolle von Barrierefreiheit und dynamischem, adaptivem Audio, das auf Spielerhandlungen reagiert. Insgesamt wird Audio als zentrales Gestaltungselement verstanden, das Spielmechaniken in emotionale Erfahrung übersetzt und maßgeblich zur Qualität digitaler Spiele beiträgt.
