Zum Einfluss des Niedrigwassers auf die Konjunktur

Abstract

Die Binnenschifffahrt in Deutschland wird seit Mitte des Jahres durch äußerst niedrige Pegelstände beeinträchtigt. Der unmittelbare Anteil der Binnenschifffahrt an der gesamtwirtschaftlichen Bruttowertschöpfung ist zwar nur sehr gering. Die gesamtwirtschaftliche Relevanz der Binnenschifffahrt rührt aber daher, dass Vorleistungen und Endprodukte anderer Wirtschaftsbereiche über die Binnenwasserstraßen transportiert werden. Einschränkungen bei diesen Transporten können somit zu spürbaren Störungen bei den Produktionsketten führen. Im Folgenden sollen daher die gesamtwirtschaftlichen Auswirkungen des Niedrigwassers genauer analysiert werden.
