Zur Wirkung des Ölpreisrückgangs auf die Konjunktur

Abstract

Die Wirkung von Ölpreisänderungen auf die Konjunktur hängt von einer Vielzahl von Einflussfaktoren ab. Maßgeblich dafür, ob eine Ölpreisänderung mit Produktionsausweitungen oder Produktionsrückgängen einhergeht, ist, ob sie angebotsbedingt oder nachfragebedingt ist. Für das Ausmaß der Produktionsänderung ist bedeutsam, wie hoch der mengenmäßige Verbrauch von Rohöl in Relation zum Bruttoinlandsprodukt (die Ölintensität der Produktion) ist. Ferner hängen die konjunkturellen Auswirkungen davon ab, ob erwartet wird, dass die Ölpreisänderungen dauerhaft oder vorübergehend sind. Schließlich gibt es Hinweise dafür, dass Ölpreisanstiege und Ölpreisrückgänge unterschiedlich starke Effekte auf die Konjunktur haben. Im Folgenden wird die Bedeutung dieser Faktoren näher erläutert. Darauf aufbauend soll eingeordnet werden, wie der jüngste Ölpreisrückgang auf die weltweite Konjunktur wirkt und welche Volkswirtschaften besonders von dem Ölpreisrückgang profitieren dürften.
