Existiert ein verfestigtes "Prekariat"? Prekäre Beschäftigung, ihre Gestalt und Bedeutung im Lebenslauf und die Konsequenzen für die Strukturierung sozialer Ungleichheit

Abstract

Vor dem Hintergrund des Strukturwandels der Erwerbsarbeit in den letzten Jahrzehnten sind die Begriffe Prekariat und Prekarität Gegenstand aktueller Debatten. Für den empirischen Beleg eines Prekariats in Deutschland fehlten bisher jedoch Längsschnittstudien. Unsere Studie untersucht unter Berücksichtigung von Beschäftigungssituation und Haushaltslage, inwieweit sich in Deutschland tatsächlich ein verfestigtes Prekariat herausgebildet hat. Grundlage ist das Sozio-ökonomische Panel (SOEP) in zwei Zehnjahresperioden von 1993 bis 2012. Das Sample für die Studie umfasst rund 10.000 befragte Erwerbspersonen. Prekäre Beschäftigungsverhältnisse werden über Merkmale der jeweiligen Tätigkeit definiert und indiziert, die Lebenssituation im Haushalt über dessen soziale Lage. Mit Sequenzclusteranalysen werden die Beschäftigungs-verläufe und Haushaltsverläufe typisiert. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass etwa ein Achtel der deutschen Erwerbsbevölkerung anhaltend prekär beschäftigt ist und unter prekären Umständen lebt.
