Abstract

Die Armuts- und Reichtumsberichte der Bundesregierung sind immer wieder Anlass für kontroverse Diskussionen über die soziale Lage in Deutschland. Die vorliegende Publikation analysiert die Entstehungsgeschichte, den Prozesses seiner Abfassung und die begleitenden Debatten. Es zeigt sich, dass der Bericht zwar eine wichtige Rolle in der Institutionalisierung eines erfahrungsbasierten Ungleichheitsdiskurses spielt. Das zentrale Problem besteht aber darin, dass ihm ein statistischer Erfahrungsbegriff zugrunde liegt und so die subjektive Seite der Ungleichheitsproblematik bislang noch zu wenig Beachtung findet.
