Modelos empíricos de oligopolio con producto diferenciado: un panorama

  • María José Moral
Registered author(s):

    El objetivo del trabajo es presentar un panorama sobre el análisis de la demanda en mercados con producto diferenciado con especial atención a la metodología basada en los modelos de elección discreta. Se revisan los planteamientos teóricos y se centra la discusión en su aplicación empírica. Se exponen los dos enfoques empleados en el estudio de la demanda de productos diferenciados: el enfoque de consumidor representativo frente al enfoque de bienes-características. Dentro de este último, se expone detalladamente el método de estimación propuesto por Berry en 1994 que ha supuesto un avance crucial en la estimación de las elasticidades de sustitución entre diferentes variedades de un producto.
