Restructuration du secteur manufacturier canadien de 1970 a 1990 : renouvellement de l'emploi selon le secteur industriel et la region

Abstract

On etudie dans ce document la dynamique de la reaffectation des emplois dans le secteur canadien de la fabrication. Pour cela, on examine le regime et l'ampleur des creations d'emplois, des pertes d'emplois et du renouvellement de l'emploi en raison de la croissance et du declin de quelques entreprises, ainsi que de la creation et de la disparition d'autres. On y etudie aussi comment l'effet des influences cycliques, par opposition aux influences structurelles, a evolue dans le temps. Enfin, on examine la question de savoir si le regime et l'ampleur du renouvellement de l'emploi varient selon la branche d'activite et les regions, et si les differences eventuelles dependent des differences de sensibilite cyclique de la creation et de la disparition des emplois, ou de la mesure dans laquelle il y a restructuration.
