Aggressive Behavior during COVID-19

Abstract

This article describes the causal link between COVID-19 and the perpetrator's aggressive behavior, influenced by the traumatic experience of the new social conditions imposed by the pandemic. The victims of domestic violence are during this period affected by social restrictions, lack of communication with the authorities, the presence of the perpetrator in the family environment. Alcohol and drug use, temporary loss of employment, traffic restrictions, lack of livelihood, financial insecurity and poor hygiene conditions negatively affect the perpetrator's mental state. Scientific studies on suicide attempts of adolescents and adults, patients with COVID-19, as well as aggressive behavior after treatment and after discharge from medical centers are analyzed. A meta-analysis of the causal relationship between the virus and other environmental factors that may contribute to the formation of neurological disorders is also presented.
