Analyse empirique du pouvoir prédictif des infractions au Code de la sécurité routière sur les risques d’accident

Abstract

Les infractions au Code de la sécurité routière font l'objet de contrôles et de sanctions qui vont en s'intensifiant partout dans le monde. Les résultats présentés dans ce document s'appuient sur une analyse de données en provenance du Québec, où une politique de sécurité routière audacieuse basée sur l'utilisation des points d'inaptitude a été appliquée. Nous avons accès à un échantillon de données de la SAAQ. Cet échantillon représente un centième des détenteurs de permis de conduire de la SAAQ, sur une période allant de 1983 à 1996. Nous présentons des résultats concernant le pouvoir prédictif des infractions sur les risques en fréquence d'accidents et d'infractions. Il ressort clairement que les infractions ont un pouvoir prédictif réel sur les risques en fréquence d'accidents et d'infractions.
