Abstract

The article proposes a linear program to optimize the staff structure of the Faculty of Agronomy - UBA. The objective function is the total sum of salaries of the staff, subject to a set of restrictions that guarantee enough staff for university government, the perpetuation of university, and certain pedagogical criteria of the Faculty. A first calculation exercise reveals an oversize of the current staff of the Faculty, mainly due to the rate of failure in courses and the delay in the completion of the thesis.
