Producto Bruto Hortícola del Partido de General Pueyrredon: reglas institucionales, relaciones insumo-producto y composición del valor agregado

Abstract

La producción hortícola del Partido de General Pueyrredon es la segunda actividad más relevante del sector primario local. Sin embargo, las estimaciones del Producto Bruto Geográfico (PBG) señalan una pérdida de participación relativa vinculada al ajuste macroeconómico que, tras la caída de la convertibilidad, produjo drásticas modificaciones en los precios relativos insumos-cultivos. Frente a éste y otros cambios en las reglas institucionales, como las restricciones en el uso de agroquímicos establecidas recientemente por una normativa municipal, los productores han tenido que afrontar incrementos de costos de acuerdo a sus posibilidades técnicas, económicas y financieras. Estas adaptaciones no siempre condujeron a resultados eficientes, lo cual se advierte, para algunos cultivos, en aumentos en la participación del uso de insumos en el valor de la producción obtenida. Partiendo de las estimaciones de PBG, el trabajo analiza indicadores de insumo-producto que permiten dar cuenta del valor agregado por peso producido, así como el grado de dependencia -en relación a otros sectores económicos- para generar distintas producciones de huerta.
