Abstract

This paper presents a detailed report and analysis of the participation patterns of Australian women, constructed from previously unpublished data gathered by the ABS in the August 1993 Population Survey Monitor. The information provides a unique detailed longitudinal picture of the occurrence and duration of breaks from employment, the fidelity to type and degree of employment and relative earnings levels, and the inter relationships which exist between the constituents of the participation profiles.
