Die Berichterstattung deutscher Medien in der griechischen Staatsschuldenkrise

Abstract

Die Studie untersucht die Berichterstattung zur griechischen Staatsschuldenkrise im ersten Halbjahr 2015 in der deutschen Medienöffentlichkeit am Beispiel bundesweiter Tageszeitungen sowie der Onlineplattform "Spiegel Online". Mittels quantitativer Inhaltsanalyse der Artikel zur griechischen Staatsschuldenkrise wurden Berichterstattungsintensität, Anlässe, Akteure, Inhalte, Themen und Wertungen erfasst. Dies erlaubt Aussagen über deren Vielfalt, Ausgewogenheit, Neutralität und Tiefe sowie das Ausmaß der Europäisierung. Es zeigt sich, dass die Berichterstattung zur griechischen Staatschuldenkrise sehr stark regierungsgeprägt, mehrheitlich meinungsorientiert und wertend ist. Dabei wird die deutsche Regierung in den Artikeln viel weniger gewertet als die griechische. Es werden erheblich häufiger Aussagen über die griechische Regierung gemacht, als dass diese zu Wort kommt und in 26 Prozent der Artikel gehen Meinungen und Wertungen direkt von Journalisten aus, welche die Artikel verfasst haben. Insgesamt erfüllt die Berichterstattung nicht die erforderlichen Qualitätsstandards.
