Où se logent les inégalités de logement liées à l’origine ?

Abstract

À partir de l’enquête Trajectoires et origines (TeO2), ce chapitre propose une analyse multidimensionnelle des inégalités de logement en fonction de l’origine ethnique. Les immigrés et leurs descendants habitent les zones géographiques les plus tendues et sont de ce fait surexposées à la crise du logement. Ils sont alors soumis à des processus de sélection particulièrement intenses qui les conduisent à se replier sur les quartiers les plus disqualifiés, à se tourner vers le parc social et à pâtir de conditions de logement défavorables (fort taux de suroccupation, moins bonne qualité des logements et des bâtiments). Un autre résultat est que les immigrés ne sont pas confrontés aux inégalités de logement avec la même intensité selon leur origine géographique. Les populations originaires d’Afrique, du Maghreb et de Turquie occupent les positions résidentielles les plus disqualifiées, en particulier quand cette origine est associée à une position sociale peu qualifiée.
